Summer 2017

My classes for this quarter:

A few miscellaneous snapshots from the quarter:

  • Making a Google Drive folder for my summer research project, and incrementally filling it with thoughts and plans and progress.
  • Seeing the HUB food court swarming with middle school summer campers.
  • Learning by experience that jazz dance makes for a great full-body workout.
  • Gaining a deeper appreciation for what grad students mean when they say balancing full-time research with classwork is hard.
  • Running into a friend right before his TA office hours.
  • Watching an apocalyptically red sunset, courtesy of the smoke from the fires in Canada.
  • Going to USENIX Security 2017 with about 15 other lab members, and coordinating to all wear identical t-shirts.
  • Taking my CSE 333 final exam ten minutes after the eclipse.
  • Finding a lovely green-and-red leaf on the walkway between Sieg and the HUB.
  • Presenting my summer research informally to the lab using a slide deck sprinkled with puns.

And as a literal snapshot, here’s a photo of the leaf I mentioned above (I subsequently took it home and pressed it):
